چکیده
The impact of droplets on liquid pools is ubiquitous in nature and many industrial applications. Most previous studies droplet focus Newtonian fluids, while less attention has been paid to the dynamics non-Newtonian droplets, even though fluids are widely used In this study, splashing shear-thinning with yield stress studied by combined experiments simulations. formation propagation ejecta sheet produced during process considered, velocity, radius, time emergence analyzed. results show that fluid properties significantly affect process. becomes easier form as flow index reduces, large can thickness sheet, spreading radius collapses into a geometrical due inertia force dominant factor propagation.

Splashing Phenomena during Liquid Droplet Impact
Splashing is a phenomenon often observed during liquid droplet impact onto a solid surface. The threshold of splashing is known to be related to droplet size, impact velocity, and physical properties of the liquid, but the mechanisms that initiate splashing are not understood completely. In accordance with the Kelvin-Helmholtz (K-H) instability analysis, recent studies have shown that ambient g...
متن کاملShear-induced sedimentation in yield stress fluids
Stability of coarse particles against gravity is an important issue in dense suspensions (fresh concrete, foodstuff, etc.). On the one hand, it is known that they are stable at rest when the interstitial paste has a high enough yield stress; on the other hand, it is not yet possible to predict if a given material will remain homogeneous during a flow. Using MRI techniques, we study the time evo...
متن کاملEffect of Ambient Pressure and Impact Angle on Splashing Threshold during Droplet Impact
While the threshold of splashing when liquid droplets impact against rigid solid surfaces is known to be related to the Weber number (We), the effect of ambient gas pressure (or density) and the impact angle have not been systematically studied. In this study, we examine the effects of droplet velocity, impact angle, and ambient gas pressure (or density) on the threshold of splashing. In our me...
متن کاملTurbulent pipe flow of shear-thinning fluids
Direct numerical simulation of the weakly turbulent flow of non-Newtonian fluids is undertaken for two different generalised Newtonian rheology models using a spectral element-Fourier method. Results for a power law (shear-thinning) rheology agree well with experimentally determined logarithmic layer correlations and with other previously published experimental work. As the flow index becomes s...
متن کاملthe impact of morphological awareness on the vocabulary development of the iranian efl students
this study investigated the impact of explicit instruction of morphemic analysis and synthesis on the vocabulary development of the students. the participants were 90 junior high school students divided into two experimental groups and one control group. morphological awareness techniques (analysis/synthesis) and conventional techniques were used to teach vocabulary in the experimental groups a...
